When I was growing up, every Saturday after breakfast, cartoons and a morning of bike riding, we watched movies in the afternoon. My mother used to put three movies to a VHS tape (if you don't know, ask your parents) and it became the window through which I filtered the world. I love movies, and they are a huge influence in much of my career as a visual designer and marketer. In so many cases, a situation to be tackled or problem to be solved reminded me of some scenario I saw in a movie once, and I'm sure that you did too.
So let us explore where we have been, what we have seen, and what we have learned from the movies. My focus is in architecture, engineering and construction marketing, but many of these lessons can be applied anywhere. If marketing is all about storytelling, we may as well use one of history's greatest examples as a kickstarter to a larger discussion and learning experience.
